Why should I share our Strategy Plan with our advisors?
After you have invested all the team's time, resources, and thinking power into your strategic plan, who should it be shared with?
Review it with all your advisors: your banker, accountant, law firm, insurance, or wealth advisors.
Why?
The better they understand your business, the better their advice, incredibly proactive guidance. Additionally, share it with them all in a group meeting together. They will get to know each other and be more aware of what advice might counter another advisor's advice.
Transparency in this instance serves you well.
Ideally, you don't want to be charged for this meeting where you're taking time to educate them about your business. And your advisors shouldn't charge you. However, if you want their insights on your plan, then paying for that input might be the right thing to do.
Sharing your strategic plan with anyone who can be held by confidentiality and provide insights to you is definitely a best practice, especially for your business advisors.
